Thames Community Foodbank
Thames Community Foodbank has been
serving the community for many years.
We can’t feed the world but,
We can help feed those on our doorstep.
Foodbank provides essential support to individuals and families during times of financial crisis or emergency, ensuring that no one in the community needs to go hungry.
Through its compassionate service, and in conjunction with the 305 Open Door, the foodbank helps to ease the burden of everyday struggles, offering hope and a sense of security when it’s needed most.
We are curently experiencing unprecedented demand for food parcels mainly due to the cost of living crisis and now, another Thames food parcel provider closing in November. From 13 to 31 January 2025 we provided 85 food parcels and 120 for the full month. In January 2024 we provided 67 food parcels, and January 2023 was 45 food parcels.
Our Annual Statistics prior to the change in November – October 2023 to November 2024, we provided 910, compared to 601 for the same period 2023, and 519 for 2022.
Thank you to all our amazing donors for your generosity and support. It is through your help that we have been able to keep going.
We were able to cope with the 2024 year level of demand. However, our demand in 2025 has already increased. To meet this level of demand, we have put new procedures in place starting 2025, and we will be reaching out to our supporters during the year.
